How I Became A Photographer

I remember getting my camera in elementary school, it was a spongebob disposable camera that my grandmother got me when we visited her in Kentucky for the first time, I never got those pictures developed. This is my first memory of getting a camera and being really shutter happy and wanting to take pictures of everything. Not long after this I got some kind of kids digital camera and I remember falling in love with taking pictures and uploading them on the computer because it felt like they were coming to life. I really wish that I still had access to those photos. Middle school is where I got my first real digital camera, it was a red samsung camera and this is what I used to take pictures of my friends and family, some of these pictures are still on my Facebook page. This camera got me through middle school but my love for photography began to fade for a while.

For some reason during my sophomore year in high school everyone waned to be a photographer and I was learning some basics in one of my journalism classes and my love for photography began to blossom again so my mom got me a camera for Christmas. This is where the world of photography and my love for the art really sparked and I began to take it a lot more seriously. At this time I started a blog and Instagram account and took pictures for friends, family, and the school newspaper from time to time. In college I continued to fall in love with photography and got more into portrait shoots and eventually got my first DSLR camera which I still use today. College was a good time because I was really eager to learn about photography and took every opportunity I could to shoot, I shot portraits, graduation pictures, and even my first wedding. My photography journey is still continuing with me taking it more seriously as a business and an art because it is truly something that I love a lot.
